Water is the main feature and common thread of this walk, which invites you to discover the unspoilt expanses of the Brenne lakes and the scenery in the valley of the Creuse, which has been shaped by human activity and marked stunning buildings.

The Suin is the common thread of this walk. In Douadic, it connects two different landscapes: the eponymous limestone valley through which it has carved a path, and the clay soil of the Brenne lakes into which it flows.

This quiet walk follows a Green Lane along a section of old railway line. The Regional Nature Reserve of Le Bois des Roches, renowned for its exctional biodiversity, overlooks the Creuse and offers a stunning view of the valley. A welcome reward after all that walking!

Wooded paths lead you from the Green Lane to the remarkable chapel in Plaincourault, worth visiting for its mural painting, along the Anglin river with a breathtaking view of the Château of Ingrandes and its old keep overlooking the river.

This walk connects the Etang de la Roche lake to the lake in the hamlet of Ratz and its reedbed, and the La Porelle lake which is home to rare and protected species. The surrounding landscape alternates between meadows and groves and offers a typical Brenne atmosphere at the Morgard lakes.

Le Blanc still bears the signs of its old railway history. The route follows the former railway line, now a Green Lane, and goes along the viaduct overlooking the city. This structure offers a panoramic view of the Creuse valley and the Château of Naillac, which the path also leads to.

The highlight of this route is the imposing Château Guillaume and its hamlet surrounded by greenery, where Eleanor of Aquitaine is said to have been born. It marks a change in the landscape from modern countryside to that of the past, which was riddled with sunken paths.

This tour reveals two tourist and historical attractions in Luant: on the one hand, the Duris lake and its reedbed, recalling the proximity of the Brenne river; on the other hand, the Miran monument dedicated to the resistance, which bears testimony to a dramatic episode in WWII.

In the village of Lurais, the valley of the Creuse reveals its stunning architectural heritage with the church, château, narrow streets and an unspoilt atmosphere on the hillside and near the Creuse. Don’t miss the astonishing view of the valley from the top of the village!

The route crosses an unspoilt gently undulating grove at the beginning of the circuit. Lureuil bears testimony to the history of the Knights Templar, of which traces still remain such as the dovecote of the former commandery, located at the end of the route overlooking the village lake.

This small family-friendly loop, starting on the banks of the River Sonne, leads to the château of the Commandery and will take you back in time to the 12th century. The banks of the village lake offer peace and tranquillity, perfect for taking a break.

Time seems to have come to a standstill in Martizay with its old shops and archaeological museum. The walk meanders into the countryside, crosses the Claise in a bucolic atmosphere, and reveals the Touraine style in the local architecture. Note the surprising conservatory orchard in Chambon.
