Description
This is Fontgombault, a small village with a significant name: "Fontaine de Gombault" - this character was a hermit near the spring (still there) over 9 centuries ago. Today, it's a Benedictine abbey. The community currently comprises some 60 monks. A short distance away is the abbey farm, a medium-sized estate. It provides part of the food for the community and also offers some of its products to visitors, such as cottage cheese, tomme and meat.
