Description
The Bois des Roches Regional Nature Reserve, owned and managed by the Conservatoire d'espaces naturels Centre-Val de Loire, is made up of dry cliff-top grasslands and caves once occupied by our reindeer-hunting ancestors and now inhabited by a few species of bats (not accessible to the public). The site shelters, among others, more than 356 plant species, 25 species of orthopterans (crickets, locusts and other grasshoppers), 4 species of reptiles including the Green and Yellow Snake and more than 160 species of butterflies by day and by night including the Snake's Azure. Magnificent view over the Creuse valley from the belvedere. Thank you for respecting the regulations indicated on the site (dogs on a leash are accepted).
