The Brenne Regional Natural Park covers part of the former province of Berry. A few kilometres from La Brenne, discover a rich cultural and historical heritage, as evidenced by its many chateaus, churches and museums. Bourges cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Valençay chateau which is one of the most beautiful chateaus in the Loire Valley with its French gardens and Renaissance architecture, are examples. Local gastronomy is one of the prides of Berry, with culinary specialties rich in flavour and tradition. Berry green lentils, black truffles, pâté berrichon or goat’s cheeses such as Valencay or crottin de Chavignol, are among the most famous specialties of Berry. Pair them with a very famous Sancerre, Quincy or Reuilly wine, with their pale colour and fruity taste, and a explosion of tastes is guaranteed.
